Marymount International School, founded in 1955 for the children of international diplomats and businessmen, is located on a private estate, just 18km from central London (12km from Kensington). The campus is ideal for young children. It is safe, compact and has outstanding facilities - all set in beautiful landscaped lawns and gardens. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are 40 minutes away.

Nearby is the town of Kingston-upon-Thames, on the banks of the River Thames. The town has renowned shopping facilities and an excellent swimming pool. Hampton Court Palace and Richmond Park, London's largest royal park, are close by.

Classrooms are modern and there are two well-equipped IT suites.

The modern, multi-purpose sports hall caters for a wide variety of indoor sports including basketball, volleyball and badminton. Outdoors, there is 5-a-side football, tennis and softball. There are art and dance studies as well as a spacious modern auditorium for staging a wide range of entertainments, including discos, karaoke and talent shows.

TEACHING AND ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

  • 26 lessons of average 45 minutes (20 hours per week) including English Skills and English Workshops (e.g. Discovery TV, Music Video, Drama, Shadow Puppets, Photo Stories)
  • The Trinity Exam in Spoken English is offered (week 2 & 4 only). It is optional, but highly recommended.
  • A wide variety of sports and activities offered.
  • Afternoon club sessions (e.g. Arts & Crafts, IT, dance)
  • 1 full-day and 1 half-day excursion per week e.g. London, Legoland, Brighton, Hampton Court Palace Maze, Richmond Park, Kingston - swimming.
  • PLUS: Lots of opportunties to practise English with our English Student Hosts.

ACCOMMODATION AND SUPERVISION

  • Staff/student 1:4 which ensures a high degree of care and very close supervision
  • Small, attractively-furnished bedrooms and well-kept bedrooms (2 -3 beds) of a very high standard
  • Common rooms with TV/DVD
  • Full board.
